The City Council took the following actions at its public hearing Monday (P. Ward Robinett was absent): West Norfolk Neighborhood - Rezoning application of River Pointe Associates to amend conditions of the zoning district to allow condominiums.

Approved, 6-0West Norfolk Neighborhood - Group Housing Project application of River Pointe Associates for 45 single-family, detached condominium units on River Pointe Drive.

Approved, 6-0Cavalier Manor Neighborhood - Use permit modification application of Sandra Pinnock to expand operation of a child day-care and preschool center from 60 to 86 children at 1220 Cavalier Blvd.

Approved, 6-0Twin Pines Neighborhood - Use permit application of Bishops Green to construct a sanitary sewage pump station within the Bishops Green II section.

Approved, 6-0Truxtun Neighborhood - Request of Greater Mount Zion Church for use permit to operate a church at 3100 Deep Creek Blvd.

Approved, 6-0

Code amendment - Request by the City Planning Commission to amend the zoning ordinance to require use permits for hotels and motels, and to add conditions for specific uses.

Approved, 6-0

Comprehensive Plan amendment - A Comprehensive Plan amendment to the Natural Environment Plan, modifying existing environmental conditions, and setting goals and objectives for Portsmouth's water, air, solid waste and natural environment.

Approved, 6-0

The City Council took the following action at its meeting Tuesday (Bernard Griffin was absent):

Presentation to Mayor Gloria O. Webb and Councilman James C. Hawks for faithful City Council service.

Ordinance to amend chapter 2 of the city code by adding sections 2-471 through 2-476, dealing with an ethics commission.

Deferred for public work session

Resolution conveying block 23 of PortCentre Commerce Park to the Portsmouth Industrial Development Authority. The authority is preparing to convey block 23 in the PortCentre Commerce Park to B&B Manufacturing Inc. for development.

Approved, 5-0-1; Robinett abstained

Resolution authorizing the city manager to release and vacate such easements, or portions thereof, as may be necessary to the continued development of the Admiral's Landing Project, and to execute any other document he deems necessary and appropriate to the project.
