RUTH R. DAVIS

Ruth R. Davis, 78, of the 1100 block of Kempsville Road, died July 9, 1996, at home after a long illness.

She was a native of Norfolk County, Va., and was formerly a secretary in the Industrial Department of Seaboard Airline Railway in Norfolk. Mrs. Davis was a member of Virginia Heights Baptist Church and an active member of the Chesapeake Bay Art Association.

Survivors include her husband, Frank C. Davis of the home; four daughters, Judith Baum of Gulfport, Ala., Vicki Granger of Lilbum, Ga., Joan Burroughs of Raleigh, N.C., and Anne Melton of Sylva, N.C.; a sister, Grace Holloway of Virginia Beach; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

A funeral will be conducted 2 p.m. Friday in Virginia Heights Baptist Church by George T. Boyd. Burial will follow in Rosewood Memorial Park, Virginia Beach.

The family will receive friends at Smith and Williams Funeral Home, Kempsville Chapel, Virginia Beach, today from 7 to 9 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to Virginia Heights Baptist Church, 1251 Kempsville Road, Norfolk, 23502.
