FANNIE D. IRVING

Fannie D. ``Fan Tan'' Irving, 94, of the second block of Hobson St., died July 9, 1996, in Maryview Hospital.

Born in Portsmouth, she was the widow of James ``Short Cake'' Irving. She was a member of Emanuel A.M.E. Church and a former member of the Parsonage Aid Club. She was also a member of Racheal Lodge of Tents (NU)8.

Survivors include three daughters, Maude I. Battle, Ada I. Keeling and Lillian S. Felton; a son, James M. Irving; a special granddaughter, Joyce Speight, and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and son-in-law, Melton I. Felton.

A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday by the Rev. James F. Mason in Emanuel A.M.E Church. Burial will be in Olive Branch Cemetery. Fisher Funeral Home is in charge. The family will be at 2301 Pearl St., Portsmouth.
