ALICE H. WRIGHT

Alice Hughes Wright, of the 1700 block of South Fraizer St., died July 12, 1996, in the Medical College of Philadelphia.

Mrs. Wright was born in Shiloh, N.C., to the late James and Minnie Hughes. At a very early she moved to Philadelphia. She was employed at Scott Paper Company of Philadelphia. She was a homemaker and a hard worker. She was a member of Philadelphia Baptist Church in Shiloh. While living in Philadelphia, she attended various churches there.

She is survived by her husband, John Frank Wright; a stepmother, Lorine Hughes of Elizabeth City; a stepdaughter, Sheila Cawan; a step-son-in-law, Sammy Cawan; and three granddaughters of Spencer, N.C.; a mother-in-law, Alice Wright of Philadelphia; four sisters, Lillian Coppedge of Virginia Beach, Lola Boone, Ann Smith, Jene Matthews of Elizabeth City; three brothers, James Hughes of Chesapeake, Lindwood Hughes and Larry Hughes of Virginia Beach; five sisters-in-law; two brothers-in-law; one great-aunt, Cora Person of Virginia Beach; two aunts, Gladys Northern of Philadelphia and Beatrice Croom of Portsmouth; four uncles, Cleveland Hughes, Charlie Hughes, and Harrell Hughes of Shiloh, and Lunsford Hughes of Virginia Beach; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday in Graves Funeral Home, by the Rev. James Reid. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Park. The family will be at 1021 Young Cedar Court, Virginia Beach.
