THURMAN C. WHEDBEE

Thurman C. Whedbee, 57, of Route 6, died Sunday, July 21, 1996, in a boating accident.

A native of Perquimans County, he was the son of the late Elsberry Riddick Whedbee Jr. and Katherine Smith Whedbee. He was a sales representative with Furst/McNess Feed and was employed part time with Albemarle Builders Supply. He was a member of Hertford United Methodist Church and the Inter County Ruritan Club.

Survivors include his wife, Kay Matthews Whedbee; a daughter and son-in-law, Dawn and Bert Bright Jr. of Snow Hill; a son and daughter-in-law, Paul Thurman and Charlene Whedbee of Greenville; a brother, Jerry W. Whedbee of Elizabeth City; two grandchildren, Carmen Bright of Snow Hill and Stephen Whedbee of Greenville.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. in Hertford United Methodist Church with the Rev. Jon Strother officiating. Burial will follow in Cedar Wood Cemetery with Swindell Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
