ALAN R. NASH

Alan R. Nash, 47, of the 5900 block of Jerry Road, died July 23, 1996, in Norfolk.

Mr. Nash retired as a Navy chief after 23 years. A native of Boston, he was a member of Disabled American Veterans, and graduated from Portsmouth High School, Portsmouth, N.H., and New Hampshire Technical Vocational Center.

Survivors include a daughter, Amy Patricia Nash of Norfolk; a son, Matthew Alan Nash of Norfolk; mother, Ann Jeanett Grassi of Dover, N.H.; father, Raymond R. Nash of Dover; stepfather, Aldo F. Grassi; three sisters, Diane Nault of Portsmouth, N.H., Donna Ellingson of Horace, N.D. and Judy Thompson of Nashua, N.H.; three brothers, George Nash of Dover, Frank Grassi of Kittery, Maine, and Donald Grassi of Eliot, Mass.; grandmother, Florence Rand of Rochester, N.H.; and numerous other loving relatives and friends.

A memorial service will be conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday by the Pastor Herb Holton in Riverside Baptist Church, 5768 Seller Drive, Norfolk. Burial will be in Pine Hill Cemetery, Dover. Smith and Williams Funeral Home, Kempsville Chapel, Virginia Beach, is handling arrangements. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to the American Heart Association.
