BEATRICE M. PARKMAN

Beatrice McGrath Parkman, 57, of the 500 block of Ravenstone Drive, formerly of Suffolk, died Monday Aug. 12, 1996, in Chesapeake General Hospital.

Mrs. Parkman was born in Millinocket, Maine. She was married to the late Allen Eugene Parkman. She was a member of Magnolia Memorial Methodist Church in Suffolk. Mrs. Parkman fought a courageous battle with cancer.

She is survived by her parents, Kenneth Eugene and Zilda Bragg McGrath of Zephyhills, Fla.; two sons, Gary Parkman and his wife, Denise of Suffolk, and Allen Parkman of Greenville, N.C.; two daughters, Laurie Barnette and her husband, Mark, of Chesapeake, Kay Haney and her husband, Jerry, of Greenville, N.C.; three brothers, Eugene McGrath and his wife, Shirley, of Virginia Beach, Victor McGrath and his wife, Mary Helen, of Burke, Va., and Keith McGrath and his wife, Jan of South Casco, Maine; and seven grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. in Twiford Colonial Chapel, Great Bridge, Chesapeake, with Pastor Jimmy Bennett officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society, 902 Pennsylvania Ave., Suffolk, 23434. The Cremation Society of Virginia, Tidewater Office, Virginia Beach is handling arrangements.
