DORIS B. AUDET

Doris Beadles Audet, 80, died Aug. 13, 1996, at Mary Immaculate Hospital, Newport News.

She was a native of Richmond, Va., and spent her early life in Highland Springs, Va., and in Schenectady, N.Y. For many years she resided in Portsmouth. Since 1993 she had lived in Williamsburg. Doris was a member of Monumental United Methodist Church, Portsmouth. She was retired from The Famous of Portsmouth, where she had worked for approximately 35 years. After her retirement she was a volunteer at Portsmouth General Hospital.

Doris was predeceased by her husband, Alfred John Audet of Schenectady, N.Y. She is survived by a son, Ronald A. Audet of Williamsburg; a son, Benjamin Hobart Audet and his wife, Mary Anderson Audet of Rockville, Md.; a cousin, Zeta Overby McKinney of Chesapeake; and cousins, Helen Sue Bryant and Ray Lee Fenton, both of Portsmouth.

The family will receive friends at Loving Funeral Home, Churchland, from 7 to 8 p.m. today. The funeral will be conducted Thursday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home by the Rev. Raymond Edmonds of Monumental United Methodist Church. Interment will be in Olive Branch Cemetery, Portsmouth. Afterwards the family will be at 4908 Morro Blvd., Portsmouth. The family have requested that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Monumental Vision of Monumental United Methodist Churck, Dinwiddie and Queen Streets, Portsmouth, 23704.
