Two people were injured Monday night in a two-car accident that snarled traffic for about 40 minutes in the eastbound lanes of the Downtown Tunnel, authorities said.
The two motorists apparently suffered minor injuries and were taken to Portsmouth General Hospital, according to a spokeswoman for the Department of Transportation.
Traffic was halted in the two eastbound lanes of I-264 from about 8:15 to about 8:55 p.m., the spokeswoman said.
