WITH SEVEN STARTERS RETURNING, VWC WOMEN LOOK TO IMPROVE

Former Virginia Beach standouts Amanda Mickiewicz and Allison Hechtkopf highlight the incoming class of freshmen women's soccer players at Virginia Wesleyan.

Mickiewicz and Hechtkopf join seven returning starters as the Lady Marlins attempt to improve on last season's fourth-place finish in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference. Top-scorer Mandy Nixon, a senior who scored 13 goals, sparks the team's solid front-line. Kelli Brubaker, a second-team All-ODAC junior, and Mickiewicz join Nixon as starters.

Tatia Boskovich, who led the Lady Marlins in assists with 13, and sophomores Roxanne Corderre and Aubrey Von Lindern combine for an experienced midfield. Defensively, Virginia Beach-natives Sonya Huss and Kim Ritter combine with freshman Alina Boskovich.

Virginia Wesleyan is strengthened by sophomore goalkeeper Jenn Campioll. Last season, she set a single-season record with 240 saves and earned second-team All-ODAC honors.
