LILLIE H. DIXON

Mrs. Lillie Hare Dixon, 83, of 100 Greenhall Road, died Friday Sept. 20, 1996, in her residence.

A native of Chowan County, Mrs. Dixon was a daughter of the late David Richard and Mamie Clyde McClenney Hare, and the wife of Charlie Thomas (C.T.) Dixon Sr. Mr. and Mrs. Dixon were married for 67 years. Mrs. Dixon was a member of the Macedonia Baptist Church.

Other survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Clara D. and Wallace Peele of Edenton; two sons and their wives, C.T. and Jackie Dixon of Edenton, Richard and Dianne Dixon of Jacksonville, Fla.; a sister, Mrs. Cornelia Perry of Tyner, N.C.; two brothers, Edward Hare of Edenton and Kelly Hare of Tyner; eight grandchildren, Ted Peele, Scott Peele, Sallie P. Chappell, Marcia D. Gregory, Randy Dixon, Teresa D. Bateman, Robin D. Amick and Todd Dixon; 10 great-grandchildren, Quenton and Courtney Peele, Brandi and Luke Peele, Roxanne and Chloe Chappell, Jennifer Gregory, Kimberly Bateman, Mitchell Dixon and Logan Amick. Mrs. Dixon was preceded in death by a son, Malcolm Dixon, and a grandson, Dean Peele.

A funeral will be conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday in Macedonia Baptist Church by the Rev. Bob Young. Burial will follow in the Beaver Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Evans Funeral Home from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today and at other times at the residence. Memorials may be made to Macedonia Baptist Church, 1004 Macedonia Road, Edenton, N.C. 27932 or to one's favorite charity.
