RAMON R. WALKER

Ramon R. Walker, 67, died Sept. 8, 1996, in a Portsmouth hospital.

He was a native of Roanoke. He completed 37 years civil service with the Naval Ships Research and Development Center of the Norfolk Naval Shipyard. He was awarded the Distinguished Service Medal, the Department of the Navy's third-highest civilian honor. He was a charter member of America Fellowship Masonic Lodge, (NU)148 A.F. and A.M., Portsmouth.

Survivors include his wife, Anna Ruth Walker of Portsmouth; and a daughter, Theresa Lynne of Roanoke.

Graveside services were held Sept. 11 in Evergreen Burial Park, Roanoke. The Rev. S.G. Bolt officiated. Masonic rites were by Melrose Lodge (NU)139 A.F. and A.M., Roanoke. Arrangements were by Oakey's North Chapel, Roanoke.
