John T. Coefield Jr., of the 60 block of Colonial Way, died Oct. 2, 1996, in a local hospital.
Born in Nash County, N.C., Mr. Coefield was a retired maintenance mechanic for B.F. Goodrich. He was a member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church.
Survivors include a daughter, Delores Witherspoon of Chesapeake; a brother, Otis Coefield of Bronx, N.Y.; a son-in-law, James Witherspoon; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends; a granddaughter, Schronda Daniels; three grandsons, Arland, Reginald, Norman; six great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and a stepdaughter, Deloris Coefield. He was predeceased by his parents.
A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday in Woodlawn Memorial Park by the Rev. C.V. Russell. Friends may join the family at the residence. Graves Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
