LAURENCE A. BROWN

Laurence A. Brown Sr., 79, U.S. Navy, retired, died Oct. 15, 1996, in his residence.

Born in Akron, Ohio, he was a retired chief warrant officer of the U.S. Navy, serving 32 years. He was a member of St. Lukes United Methodist Church and Pearl Harbor Survivors.

Survivors include his wife, Helen M. Brown; a daughter, Patricia Fichter of Virginia Beach; two sons, Thomas H. Brown and Laurence A. Brown, both of Virginia Beach; a sister, Evelyn Snyder of Marshaville, Ohio; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Services will be private. The family will have a private gathering at the home of Laurence A. Brown Jr., 1290 Brigantine Court, Virginia Beach, after noon Saturday. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or American Heart Association.
