Winston Joynes ``Dynamite'' Custis Sr., 87, died Dec. 31, 1996, in Heritage Hall, Nassawadox, Va.
Born in Craddockville, Va., he was the son of the late Thomas L. and Mary Emma E. Nock Custis. He was the retired owner of Custis Record Shop. He was a member of Belle Haven Methodist Church and served as a trustee. He was a member of the Exmore-Belle Haven Lions Club, Exmore Moose Lodge (NU)683 and Ocean Masonic Lodge (NU)116 AF&AM.
Survivors include his wife, Claudia Stewart Custis; daughter, Susan C. Prettyman of Exmore; son, Winston J. Custis Jr. of Belle Haven; a brother, Ralph B. Custis Sr. of Chesapeake; and five grandchildren.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday in Belle Haven Cemetery by the Rev. Fred G. Marvel. Burial will be in Belle Haven Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Belle Haven United Methodist Church, Belle Haven, Va. 23306 or to the Exmore-Belle Haven Lions Club, c/o Nat Terry, P.O. Box 87, Willis Wharf, Va., 23486.
