SLICK ROADS CONTRIBUTE TO ACCIDENTS

An overnight dusting of snow and cold winds that helped cause icing on some bridges and overpasses contributed to a rash of traffic accidents in Hampton Roads early Saturday.

State police alone handled more than a dozen accidents on area interstates.

No critical injuries were reported, but State Police did advise against unnecessary travel early Saturday.

By mid-morning, roads had cleared and most of the snow had vanished.
