Retired Navy Chief Petty Officer Richard Newton Brookhart, 70, died Jan. 14, 1997, in a Norfolk hospital.
Born in Butler, Pa., he was also retired from the Norfolk Naval Shipyard. He was the son of the late George F. and Bessie Brookhart.
Survivors include his wife, Sue Brookhart; daughter, Susan G. Kraus of Mechanicsburg, Pa.; two sisters, Ruth Brookhart and Helen Knauer, both of Butler. He was preceded in death by two sisters and two brothers.
A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, January 24 in Arlington National Cemetery. Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Bayside Chapel, is handling arrangements.
