BROOKLYN MAN ACCUSED OF NORFOLK SLAYING

Police have arrested a New York man in connection with the murder of a Norfolk man whose body was discovered in Suffolk.

On Dec. 23, the body of Scott G. Moore, 31, of the 200 block of Maple Ave. was discovered in Suffolk.

His identity was learned only after Suffolk detectives contacted neighboring police departments to see if any were handling a missing persons case for a man fitting Moore's description.

Norfolk police were, and a joint investigation by the two departments led to the victim being identified.

Detectives determined the homicide occurred in Norfolk and that the suspect was living in Brooklyn, police spokesman Larry Hill said.

He was identified as Joseph Barcliff, 21.

Barcliff was arrested Thursday and charged with murder and using a firearm.

He was being held in a Brooklyn jail.
