Ruth E. Kloeppel, 81, a resident of Churchland House, died Jan. 25, 1997.
She had been active in the Brentwood Garden Club and was the widow of Vernon B. Kloeppel.
She is survived by three sons, Byron P. Kloeppel and Michael W. Kloeppel of Portsmouth and E. James Kloeppel of Chesapeake; and five grandchildren.
A memorial service will be conducted at Trinity Episcopal Church, Court and High streets in Portsmouth, by the Rev. Dr. Geoffrey M. Hahneman at 2 p.m. Tuesday. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
