RUSSELL J. MILLER

Russell Joseph Miller, 68, died Jan. 25, 1997, in Norfolk.

Mr. Miller was born in Indian Head, Pa., and was retired from the Navy as a petty officer first class. He was also retired from sales. He was a charter member of Calvary Church of the Nazarene in Norfolk; a member of Disabled American Veterans, where he was past commander of Chapter (NU)4; past membership vice president of Disabled American Veterans of Virginia; president of the Resident Council of Norfolk Health Care; president of the NUB Club in Norfolk; and was very active in various political and civic activities. He was a veteran of World War II.

Survivors include his wife, Irmgard G. Miller; a daughter, Susan Martin and husband, Claude, of Newport News; a son, Russell Jay Miller of Virginia Beach; and a brother, William E. Miller of West Leisenring, Pa.

A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive, by the Rev. Scott E. Davis. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. The family will be at the funeral home from 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesday. Memorial donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association or the American Heart Association.
