WARREN D. AUSTIN

Warren Dudley Austin, 77, of the 500 block of Turlington Road, died Feb. 15, 1997, in Obici Hospital.

Born in Nansemond County, he was a retired dispatcher for the Suffolk Fire Department and funeral assistant at Harrell Funeral Home. He was a member of Bethlehem Christian Church, Suffolk, a lifetime deacon and member of Taylor Progressive Bible Class. He was an Army veteran of World War II and a member of Bethlehem Ruritan Club and Suffolk Moose Lodge (NU)141.

Survivors include his wife, Malene Ellis Austin and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Mary Pierce Austin and Willie Dudley Austin and a sister, Francis A. Johnson.

A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Bethlehem Christian Church by the Rev. Cecil Smith and the Rev. David Wilson. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Family will receive friends at the residence, 531 Turlington Road. Memorials may be made to Nansemond Suffolk Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 1519, Suffolk, Va. 23439 or Bethlehem Church General Funds. Harrell Funeral Home, Suffolk, is in charge.
