DOROTHY H. RESPASS

Dorothy Hill Respass, 83, a resident of the 100 block of Clarendon Ave., Bayview Community, died in Beaufort County Hospital, Washington, N.C., on Saturday, Feb. 15, 1997.

Mrs. Respass was born in Norfolk on Feb. 11, 1914, the daughter of the late John and Dale Johnson Hill. She was married first to Henry Scheepers who died in 1947 and then she married Ellis Thurman Respass in August 1949, who survives. She was employed as an assistant dietitian with Leigh Memorial Hospital in Norfolk, was a member of St. Clair's Church of Christ, the Ladies Aide of the church and the Senior Adult Bible Class.

Surviving with her husband are two sons, Henry M. Scheepers of Chesapeake and Daniel J. Scheepers of Wakefield, Va.; a daughter, Betty Dunn of Elizabeth City; a stepson, Ellis T. Respess Jr. of Wilson and a stepdaughter, Linda Tyndell of Marion, S.C.; 12 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Pearl Dozer of Chesapeake.

A funeral will be conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Paul Funeral Home, Washington, by Norman Miller. A graveside service will be conducted at 3 p.m. Wednesday in Rosewood Memorial Park, Virginia Beach, by the Rev. Charles Mosley. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Bath Community Rescue Squad, Bath, N.C. 27808.
