JOYCE F. SAECKER

Joyce Folk Saecker, 55, of the 100 block of Maury Place died Feb. 28, 1997.

A native of Suffolk, she was the daughter of the late Edward Garnett and Edna Benton Folk. Mrs. Saecker was a graduate of Suffolk High School. She attended Longwood College and was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church and the Altar Guild. She was a member of the American Red Cross, Louise Obici Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, Suffolk Art League, Suffolk Nansemond Historical Society and the Social Club.

Survivors include her husband, Wellington Mills Saecker; her daughter, Edith S. Higinbotham of Suffolk; three stepsons, Wellington Mills Saecker Jr. of Suffolk, Dr. John Rawls Saecker and Japheth Edward Saecker, both of Accomac; and six grandchildren.

A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday in St. Paul's Episcopal Church by the Rev. H. Vance Mann III. Burial will be in St. Luke's Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today in her daughter's home, 602 Dumville Ave. Memorial donations may be made to St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 213 N. Main St., Suffolk, Va. 23434.
