Sally Gertrude Childress, 84, of the 400 block of Tareyton Lane died March 5, 1997, in a local hospital.
A native of Carroll County, Va., she is survived by her husband, Earl R. Childress; two daughters, Dorothy Edwards and Wilma Williams, both of Portsmouth; five grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild.
The body was shipped to Dudley Memorial Mortuary, Bluefield, Va., for services and burial. Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel, is in charge. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
