LEONARD S. HARE

Leonard Sylvester Hare, 68, of the 100 block of Mexico Road died Saturday, March 8, 1997, in his home.

A native of Chowan County, Mr. Hare was a son of the late Brady C. and Sarah Roach Hare and husband of Mrs. Annie Martha Spruill Hare. Mr. Hare was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church and a charter member of the Advance Ruritan Club. He had served on the Chowan County Committee with the A.S.C.S. office.

Surviving other than his wife are three daughters, Susan Hare Youmans of Davis, Calif., Nancy Hare Vincek of Pinetops, N.C., and Wendy Hare Barker of New Bern; three sisters, Agnes Hollowell, Beatrice Griffin and Delsie Holland, all of Edenton; brother, Worth Hare Sr. of Edenton; seven grandchildren and a great-grandchild. Mr. Hare was predeceased by two sisters, Georgia Hare and Flora Hare Belch and a brother, Thomas N. Hare.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Macedonia Baptist Church by the Rev. Bob Young. Burial will follow in Beaver Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers will be the nephews of Mr. Hare. The family will be receiving friends at the residence. Memorials may be made to the Macedonia Baptist Church, 1004 Macedonia Church Road, Edenton, N.C. 27932 or Albemarle Home Health Care, P.O.
