You can keep onions up to six months by wrapping each onion in newspaper and placing them in the crisper section of your refrigerator, or place them in nylon stockings or pantyhose, tying a knot between each one and keeping them in a cool, dry area away from direct sunlight or moisture. As an onion is needed, simply cut it from the bottom of the stocking.
