CLIFTON A. LATHAM

Clifton Abe Latham, 65, of the 1200 block of Carrsville Highway, died April 11, 1997, in Obici Hospital.

Born in Martin County, N.C., he was a bishop and member of Prince of Peace Holiness Church, 200 Cobb St., Franklin.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Rose L. Latham; his daughters, Delores Parker, Darlene Hargraves, Joyce Williams, Carolyn Watson and Peggy Holt, all of Norfolk; stepdaughter, Ruth Ann Dawes of Stamford, Conn.; five sons, Clifton Latham Jr., Clayton Latham, Terry and Tony Latham, all of Norfolk, Edward Latham of Daytona Beach, Fla.; a sister, Ida Teale of Martin County; three brothers, Robert, Clinton and LeRoy Latham, all of Norfolk; 17 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents, Virginia Latham and King Latham.

A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Applewhite Funeral Home by Elder David Williams. Burial will be in Carver Memorial Park Cemetery. Viewing will begin today from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. A Christian Wake will also be held from 6 to 8 p.m. The family will assemble at 540 E. Constance Road, Suffolk, at 1 p.m. for the funeral.
