CHARLES E. SMYTH

Charles E. Smyth, 76, of Cross Street, died Friday, May 30, 1997, in his home.

A native of Washington County, Va., he is survived by his wife, Lillian E. Smyth. He was a part-time employee of Lancaster Farms and retired from Talbott-Marks, Clarksville, Va., as a superintendent of highway construction. He was also an Army veteran of World War II.

Survivors include three daughters, Elizabeth Daughtry of Suffolk, Rebecca Carr of Hickory, N.C., and Sharon Dahmer of Waynesboro, Va.; sister, Margaret Booth of Abingdon, Va.; four grandchildren and a great-grandchild.

The family will receive friends at Sturtevant Funeral Home, Bennett's Creek Chapel, today from 7 to 8 p.m. The funeral will immediately follow in the chapel at 8 p.m. Burial will be in Mount Zion Cemetery at 10:30 a.m. Monday. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
