ARTHUR G. JANIS JR.

Arthur G. Janis Jr., 42, of the 200 block of Robert St., died Sunday, June 1, 1997 in a Norfolk hospital.

Mr. Janis was born in Owensboro, Ky., and was the son of Arthur G. Janis Sr. and LeNelle Buckley Janis, both of Chesapeake. He was predeceased by a sister, Lenelle Piccolo, and was an Episcopalian. Mr. Janis was the owner of Videoartz located in the Deep Creek section of Chesapeake.

Besides his parents, he is survived by his sister, Stacia Simmons of Pleasant Hill, Calif.; his two brothers, William G. Janis of Cleveland, Ohio, and Stephen D. Janis of Chesapeake; his grandmother, Mildred Buckley of Chesapeake; his uncle and two aunts, Richard and Kay Janis, as well as Phyllis Janis, all of Chicago.

A memorial service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday in St. Thomas Episcopal Church by the Rev. Michael Jones. Burial will be in Chesapeake Memorial Gardens. There will be no viewing. The family will receive friends at the residence. Oman Funeral Home, Great Bridge, is handling arrangements.
