``OUT IN THE PARK''

More than 1,000 people turned out at Lakewood Park in Norfolk on

Sunday for the annual Hampton Roads Lesbian and Gay Pride

Coalition's summer pride festival, this year dubbed ``Out in the

Park.'' The picnic-style event, held previously at Mount Trashmore

in Virginia Beach, featured live music, a dunking booth, art

displays, speakers, awards for community leaders, and information

booths. New this year was the scheduling of games by the local gay

and lesbian softball league at the park to coincide with the event.
