The Chesapeake City Council met Tuesday and took the following actions, based on a report from the Office of the City Clerk. Proposal

Acceptance of Darnice Pettigrew's resignation from the Animal Control Advisory Board. Approved, 5-0 with Ward, Duda, Edge and Krasnoff excused.

Refund of assessed taxes to W.M. Jordan Company Inc. in the amount of $55,661.50. Approved, 5-0 with Ward, Duda, Edge and Krasnoff excused.

Request by the Department of Human Services, Tidewater Detention Home for appropriation of $29,213.20 of Food Service Funds allocated by the United StatesDepartment of Agriculture (USDA). Approved, 5-0 with Ward, Duda, Edge and Krasnoff excused.

Request by the Department of Human Services for appropriation of $5,000 of Welfare Reform Planning Funds allocated by the state Department of Social Services. Approved, 5-0 with Ward, Duda, Edge and Krasnoff excused.

Request by the Police Department for appropriation of $760 of Help Eliminate Auto Theft (HEAT) Funds allocated by the Virginia Department of State Police. Approved, 5-0 with Ward, Duda, Edge and Krasnoff excused.

An ordinance to require the removal, repair, etc., of abandoned, hazardous or obstructing vessels, wharves, piers, pilings, bulkheads and structures. Approved, 5-0 with Ward, Duda, Edge and Krasnoff excused.

Request by Chesapeake Redevelopment and Housing Authority for appropriation of $3,100,000 of Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Section 108 Loan Guarantee Funds allocated by the Department of Housing and Urban Development. Approved, 5-0 with Ward, Duda, Edge and Krasnoff excused.

Request by the Department of Finance for budgetary transfers and appropriations related to the Central Fleet Management Program. Approved, 5-0 with Ward, Duda, Edge and Krasnoff excused.

Resolution approving action by the Chesapeake Redevelopment and Housing Authority to create a tax free 501(c)(3) - CHDO entity to be incorporated under the name of ``Chesapeake Home, Inc.'' to be utilized in the acquisition of new housing stock to meet the needs of low and moderate income housing and to assistthe residents of Chesapeake in the utilization of available resources to meet their needs.
