SHIRLEY G. CARLEY

Shirley Gordon Carley, 55, of the 4100 block of First St., died July 13, 1997.

Mrs. Carley was born in East Lake, N.C., and was an assembly line worker with G.E. Corp. She was a member of Providence Baptist Church and the Auxiliary of Fraternal Order of the Eagles Lodge (NU)795 and South Norfolk Boys Baseball.

Survivors include her husband, Albert Allen Carley Sr.; two daughters, Deborah Marie Lupton and Angelina Faye Wiggs, both of Chesapeake; a son, Charles G. McPherson Jr. of Chesapeake; four stepsons, Keith Carley, Kenneth Carley, Kevin Carley, all of Chesapeake, and Albert A. Carley Jr. of Attleboro, Mass.; her stepmother, Bettie S. Gordon of Chesapeake; three sisters, Tanya Kerwin of Suffolk, Esther Todd of Chesapeake and Jenny Pinner of Virginia Beach; three stepsisters, Joyce Coleman of Chesapeake, Evelyn Jordan of Pennsylvania and Nancy McMillan of Virginia Beach; four brothers, James Howard Gordon Jr. of Kennewick, Wash., Ricky Gordon of Virginia Beach, Blackie Gordon of Richmond and Nobie Gordon of Chesapeake; two stepbrothers, Thomas Lee of Missouri and John Guy of Virginia Beach; and 16 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father and mother, James Howard ``Flash'' Gordon Sr. and Margaret ``Peggy'' Holmes Gordon.

A funeral will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday in Graham Funeral Home, South Norfolk Chapel. Burial will be in Chesapeake Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 8 p.m. today and at 2057 Phyllis Drive, Chesapeake, at all other times. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
