GIOVANNI B. SIBILIA

Giovanni Battista Sibilia died Wednesday, July 23, 1997, in his home.

He was a native of Milan, Italy, and a member of St. Mary's of the Presentation Church, where he served as Eucharistic Minister and head usher. He was a past Grand Knight and Faithful Navigator of the 4th Degree Order of Knights of Columbus in Haverhill, Mass., and an active knight in Suffolk Council No. 7363.

He was active in local soccer programs upon retiring from Vi-Tex Packaging as a plant supervisor.

Survivors include his wife, Grace Lops Sibilia of Suffolk; daughter and son-in-law, Grace Sibilia and Mark W. Jones of Zuni; two sons and daughters-in-law, John B. and Terry Sibilia of Gansevoort, N.Y., Sal A. and Tammy Sibilia of Windsor; sister, Giuseppina Diasparra of Milan; and six grandchildren.

Reception of the body and a Christian Wake will be held at St. Mary's today at 7 p.m. followed by visitation in the church and Fellowship Hall.

A Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday in St. Mary's by Father Thomas B. Nee and Father Christian J. Haydinger. Burial will be in Holly Lawn Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Capital Improvement Fund at St. Mary's Church, 202 S. Broad St., Suffolk, Va. 23434. Hill Funeral Home is in charge. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
