CHESAPEAKE

BRADNER RE-ELECTED: James P. Bradner, president of the Chesapeake Agency, was installed as vice chairman of the Independent Insurance Agents of Virginia for the 1997-98 year.

NELMS HEADS HOSPITAL AUTHORITY: Linwood Nelms Jr. was elected chairman of the Chesapeake Hospital Authority for 1997-98. He is vice president at the Bank of Hampton Roads and has been a member of the authority since 1989. He succeeds Dr. Richard T. Holden.

NORFOLK

WAGNER AND WEBBER NAMED TO PUTNAM COUNCIL: Jeffrey S. Wagner and David F. Webber, investment professionals with Linsco Private Ledger, have become members in Putnam's 24th annual Golden Scale Council. The council consists of investment professionals who have achieved the highest professional standards in serving investors during the previous year. Putnam manages over 100 funds.

SAVAGE CHAIRMAN OF ROBERT MORRIS ASSOCIATES: The Hampton Roads chapter of Robert Morris Associates elected Thomas L. Savage, a vice president with First Union National Bank, as chairperson for 1997-98. Robert Morris Associates is an elite association of top leaders in the fields of lending and credit risk management.

VIRGINIA BEACH

HOGGE, LOOMIS AND MORTIMER NAMED ASSOCIATES: HSMM (Hayes, Seay, Mattern & Mattern) named Wilbur W. Hogge, Steven E. Loomis and E. Wayne Mortimer associates. Hogge, a civil engineer, serves as head of construction administration department; Mortimer is the architectural department head and Loomis is the director of design - judicial facilities.

ZABA OPENS OFFICE AT BEACH: Dr. Joel N. Zaba, a behavioral optometrist specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of learning-related visual problems, has opened his second office in the Pembroke One Building. He will continue to offer services from his existing office on Little Creek Road in Norfolk.

HAMPTON ROADS

MONDS, CHITTY HONORED BY ROOFERS: The Virginia Association of Roofing Contractors elected Teresa Monds of Roof Systems of Virginia in Richmond and Chesapeake, as president.
