MARGARET L. THOMPSON

Margaret Louise Long Thompson, 73, of the 400 block of Parker Road, died Aug. 2, 1997.

Mrs. Thompson was born in Tazewell, Va., and had retired from Great Bridge Pharmacy as a salesperson after 19 years. She was a member of Oak Grove United Methodist Church and the Church Choir, was a Sunday School teacher, member of the Builder's Bible Class and an honorary member of United Methodist Women, and a member of Order of the Eastern Star, Great Bridge Chapter (NU)155. She was a former member of Norview United Methodist Church and was formerly employed with Center Shops of Norfolk.

Survivors include her husband, Fitzhugh Luke Thompson; a daughter and her husband, Deborah Ellen and Wesley Owens of Chesapeake; two sons and their wives, David F. and Gloria Thompson of Chesapeake and Daniel E. and Dolly Thompson of Blacksburg, Va.; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday in Oak Grove United Methodist Church by the Rev. Robert McIvor and the Rev. Jack Scott. Burial will be in Chesapeake Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Thompson will lie in state at her residence today until 6 p.m. The family will receive friends at the church from 7 to 8 p.m. today and at the residence at all other times. Memorial contributions may be made to Oak Grove United Methodist Church, 472 N. Battlefield Blvd., Chesapeake, Va. 23320, or the Living Memorial Bible Plan of Gideons International, P.O.
