AMY P. BAKER

Amy Virginia Petitt Baker, 75, of the 6000 block of Saranac Ave. died Aug. 2, 1997, in Charlottesville, Va.

Mrs. Baker was native of Logan, W.Va. She was a longtime member of Willowwood Presbyterian Church. She was also a school teacher in the Norfolk public schools for over 25 years. She was a member of Alpha Delta Kappa Teachers Sorority, a past officer of Norfolk Classroom Teachers Association and a graduate of Montreat College in Asheville, N.C., and of the Presbyterian School of Christian Education in Richmond. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rufus Baker, and her brother, Richard Petitt.

Survivors include a son, Reb Baker, and his wife, Vicki, of Chesapeake; two daughters, Sarah Virginia Elms and her husband, Mike, of Norfolk and Marymarie Franklin and her husband, Joe, of Carthage, Mo.; a brother, George Petitt Sr. of Eldorado, Ohio; and eight grandchildren, Matthew Michael, Jeremy Bryant and Amy Nicole Marie Elms, Andrew Joseph, Timothy Crell and Maryann Franklin and Leizl Lynn and Megan Cassidy Baker.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today in Smith & Williams Funeral Home, Norfolk Chapel. A church service will be conducted at 2 p.m. in Willowwood Presbyterian Church on Tuesday. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
