The following new officers have been elected to the Monticello Charter Chapter, American Business Women's Association:

Janice Rahm, president; Ann Reed, vice president; Betty Mausolf, secretary; and Gayle Whitmore, treasurer.

Jack Harris of Norfolk has been elected president of the Lake Taylor Civic League. Harris assumed the office Aug 1.

Dr. William E. Pearson, executive assistant to the president for institutional advancement at the University of Rio Grande, has received one of two 1997 Grenzebach Awards for Outstanding Research in Philanthropy for Education from the Council for Advancement and Support of Education.

Pearson, a Norfolk native, received the award at the CASE Annual Assembly in Washington, D.C., for the doctoral dissertation ``A Study of Donor Predictability among Graduates of a School of Education Within a Research I, Public University. ILLUSTRATION: Pearson
