BETTY V. CAMPBELL

Betty Verona Campbell, 60, died Aug. 14, 1997, of cancer.

Mrs. Campbell was born June 10, 1937, in Portsmouth. Her maiden name was Turner and she graduated from Churchland High School. She married Jess in 1961.

She was a secretary for Beckman Instruments in Fullerton, Calif. She and her husband later lived in Whittier, Calif., and Grants Pass, Ore. They moved to Portland in 1972, where Mrs. Campbell was an international accounts specialist for Hyster. They moved to Bend in 1992, where she worked as an office manager for Safeway. She was a member of Smith Memorial Presbyterian Church, Fairview.

She is survived by her husband; sons, Tom Dinius of Beaverton, Ore., Greg Campbell of Clackamas, Ore.; daughters, Cheryl Olson of Milwaukie, Ore., Lynn Tucker of Gresham, Ore., and Melanie Campbell of Tigard, Ore.; sisters, Shirley Keirn of Portsmouth, Vivian Bowman of Newport News and Helen Woodman of Virginia Beach; eight grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

A private interment was in Deschutes Memorial Gardens, Bend. The family suggests remembrances to the American Cancer Society for Research, 1230 N.E. Third St., Suite A-180, Bend, Ore. 97701. Donations should be marked ``For Research Only.'' Arrangements were by Deschutes Memorial Funeral Home. A memorial service was Saturday in First Presbyterian Church, Bend. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
