LORENE RITTENHOUSE

Lorene Rittenhouse, 86, died Thursday, September 11, 1997.

She was born Feb. 18, 1911, in Albemarle County, Va., the daughter of Benjamin Whitler Deane and Margaret Dennitt Martin Deane. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two infant sons, Ottie Ray Rittenhouse and Albert Eugene Rittenhouse.

She is survived by her loving husband of 70 years, John Burgess Rittenhouse; two daughters, Frances C. Sawyer of Norfolk and Barbara L. Raymond and husband, Don, of Mechanicsville; six grandchildren, Nancy Besier and husband, Frank, of Virginia Beach, Leonard Myrtle and wife, Lynn, of Nelson County, Debra Duck and husband, Eddie, Lisa Lohr and husband, Tracy, Donnie Raymond and wife, Alison, all of Hanover County, and Mark Sawyer of Norfolk; seven great-grandchildren, Troy Cox, Rebecca and Nicholas Myrtle, Joey Robben, Stephanie, Brian, and Kevin Lohr; and a great-great granddaughter, Brittany Cox.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Thacker Brothers Funeral Home, Scottsville, with the Rev. Cecil T. Pace officiating. Burial will follow at Alberene Cemetery, Alberene, Va. Public viewing at the funeral home will be today from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday from 9 a.m. until the time of funeral. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
