JOHN S. MCCOY

John ``Joe'' S. McCoy, 92, of the 100 block of Myrtle Drive, died Tuesday, Sept. 16, 1997, in Chowan Hospital Skilled Nursing Facility.

A native of Deep Creek, Mr. McCoy was a son of the late John G. and Ida G. McCoy and the husband of the late Nora B. McCoy. He was retired from the Chrysler Corp.

Survivors include three grandchildren, John Black Jr. of Canton, Conn., Toni Jo Nielbaur of Littleton, Colo., and Timothy Black of California. He was preceded in death by his son, John J. Black; his brother, Thomas C. McCoy; sisters, Mary McCoy, Belle McCoy, Sarah E. Goodman, Mary B. Thebeau, Florence V. Brinkley and Ida G. Doerr.

The family will receive friends at the Evans Funeral Home from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today. A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday in the Temple Hill Cemetery, Castlewood, Va. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Chowan Hospital Foundation for Skilled Nursing Facility, P.O. Box 629, Edenton, N.C. 27932. Evans Funeral Home, Edenton, is handling arrangements.
