TREVA H. BOND

Mrs. Treva H. Bond went home to be with the Lord on Monday, Sept. 15, 1997, after a brief illness.

She was the wife of the late Sylvester C. Bond. She was the loving mother of the late Truman W. Lane and Robert David Bond of Chesapeake. She was a devoted grandmother to Stephen W. Lane, Christopher J. Lane, Carol Lane Wilson and Robert B. Lane, all of California, and Shannon A. and Heather D. Dougherty of Chesapeake. She was great-grandmother to six. Treva had three special ``daughters,'' her daughters-in-law Debbie Bond of Chesapeake, Nancy E. Lane of California and Stephanie C. Lane of Oregon.

She was a native of High Point, N.C., and is remembered by her best friend of 60 years, Ruth Shirley of Randleman, N.C. She was retired from Sears Credit Department after 30 years service. A faithful member of Fairview Heights Baptist Church for over 33 years, she taught Sunday School in the junior department for more than 20 years. As her final gift to this world, she has donated her body to Eastern Virginia Medical School.

A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday in Fairview Heights Baptist Church, 4704 Deep Creek Blvd., Portsmouth. The family will visit with friends in the fellowship hall following the service. In place of flowers, Treva has suggested donations to the Children's Ministry of Fairview Heights Baptist Church or to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 26682, Richmond, Va. 23260.
