Margaret C. Davis, 78, of Byers Ave. died Sept. 15, 1997, in a Portsmouth hospital.
A native of Anson County, N.C., she was retired from F.W. Woolworth and a member of St. Andrew's United Methodist Church. She was the widow of Herbert E. Davis.
Survivors include three sons, Herbert E. Davis Jr. of Chesapeake, Ollie W. Davis of San Diego, Calif., and William Donald Davis of Suffolk; a sister and two brothers in North Carolina; eight grandchildren, Cindy Fairbanks, April Crawford, Valarie Wood, Karen Luskin, Matthew Davis, Laura Davis, Sherie Chasse and Lisa Lerner; and 11 great-grandchildren.
A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday in Sturtevant Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel, by the Rev. Richard Chasse. Entombment will be in Meadowbrook Memorial Mausoleum. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 8 p.m. today. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
