MARGARET T. CULPEPPER

Margaret Twiford Culpepper of the 1000 block of W. Colonial Ave. died Friday, Sept. 26, 1997, in Albemarle Hospital.

She was a native of Pasquotank County, the daughter of the late Samuel Washington and Lillie Lassiter Twiford and the wife of Luther Bertran Culpepper Jr. of the home. She was a retired salesperson, having worked at Quinn Furniture Co., Thornton Furniture Co. and Heileg-Meyers Furniture Co. and was a member of First United Methodist Church.

Besides her husband, Mrs. Culpepper is survived by a son, Luther B. Culpepper III of Woodland, N.C.; a daughter, Mrs. Jayne Culpepper Henderson of Portsmouth; four grandchildren, Luther B. Culpepper IV, Margaret H. Francisco, A. Stanley Culpepper and A. Roy Henderson III.

A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday in the New Hollywood Cemetery by the Rev. Margaret Saunders and Rev. Charles Pollock. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to the First United Methodist Church of Elizabeth City Endowment Fund. Twiford's Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
