GOLFER OF THE WEEK: ERIC SUWYN/CHESAPEAKE

Suwyn is a member of the Coast Guard Hampton Roads Golf Association, a group of about 80 golfers that plays a monthly tournament. Every November, Suwyn says the gang enjoys a weekend golf package deal on the Outer Banks. ``You can't beat it,'' he says. ``Three days of golf for $99!''

Age: 26

Occupation: Coast Guard Health Services, Technician 2nd Class

Handicap: 16

Favorite course: Sleepy Hole. Best finishing hole in area is No. 18, especially with a setting sun. It's one of the best-maintained courses, so much better than all the rest.

Lowest score: 80 at Langley. It was a round filled with pars.

Clubs: Taylor Made Burner Bubble woods; Cleveland Vas 792 irons; Ping putter

Shot I dread the most: 100 yards and in.

My dream foursome: Tom Lehman, Fred Couples, Tiger Woods and me.

Biggest golf gripe: Slow play by people who look for lost balls more than allotted time by USGA rules.

Most memorable shot: At Oceana's 270-yard, par-4, into the wind with water down the left side. I took a driver and drove the green.

Funniest thing I ever saw on the course: My friend was on a hill on a Navy course in California. He didn't use the hill brake on the cart, and the cart went into lake. Needless to say, he went in and got the clubs. ILLUSTRATION: Color photo by Mark Mitchell/The Virginian-Pilot
