MARGARET L. MCCOY

Margaret Lawton McCoy of the 1600 block of Marciano Drive died Oct. 10, 1997, in her home.

Born in Norfolk County, she was the widow of Earnest McCoy. She was a member of Providence United Church of Christ, Chesapeake, where she was a member of the Usher Board and Pastor's Aid Society.

Survivors include five daughters, Gloria Bell of Portsmouth, Erma Clark of Jersey City, N.J., Ernestine Martin of Rochester, N.Y., Margie Baskerville of Spring Lake, N.C., and Sandra Robinson of Chesapeake; two stepdaughters, Lillie Ponds of Norfolk and Flossie Chapman of Jamaica, N.Y.; three sons, Elton Stancil of Virginia Beach, Horace McCoy Sr. of Deluth, Ga., and Ronnie McCoy Sr. of San Antonio, Texas; a stepson, Henry McCoy of Portsmouth; two sisters, Agenora Davis of Virginia Beach and Bernice Stilley of Chesapeake; 20 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.

A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday in Providence United Church of Christ, Chesapeake, by the Rev. Dr. Alexander Jamison. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park, Chesapeake. Fitchett Funeral Home is handling arrangements. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
