BAUMAN APPOINTED DIRECTOR: The Virginia Port Authority named Charles J. Bauman III director, marketing projects. He will be liaison to the economic development community, directing port-related national and international economic development programs to increase cargo moving through Virginia's ports. Since 1983, he served as the manager of marketing for the city of Norfolk's Department of Development.

LAMB AND GRANT APPOINTED TO NEW POSITIONS: The Foodbank of Southeastern Virginia has announced that Don Lamb, previously director of SHARE Mid-Atlantic, was named vice president of affiliate development and training for SHARE. Loretta Grant will assume the position of director of SHARE Mid-Atlantic. SHARE is an affiliated program of the Foodbank.

VIRGINIA BEACH

HOLLIDAY PROMOTED TO GENERAL MANAGER: Allied Technology Group named Thomas Holliday general manager of its engineering services division. He will assume overall management responsibilities for both the division's government and commercial operations. He was a senior systems engineer.

CACI GETS $45 MILLION NAVY CONTRACT: CACI International Inc. said it received a $45 million contract to help Tesco Inc. provide instructor and curriculum-development services to the U.S. Navy's Service School Command in Great Lakes, Ill. CACI, based in Arlington., is an information-technology provider. Tesco, based in Mobile, Ala., has the prime contract for the job, consisting of one base year plus four one-year options. Tesco's contract is valued at $96.4 million.

CORRECTION

Areawide, peanut production during an average year is about 3,000 pounds an acre. Officials say this year's harvest will likely be cut by about 1,000 pounds an acre. A story Saturday stated ``tons an acre.''
