COLA W. BEALE

Cola Wilkin Beale, 83, of the 1100 block of Pelham St., died Nov. 6, 1997 in DePaul Medical Center.

Mr. Beale was born in Jackson, N.C., and was a member of First Baptist Church Logan Park and its Usher Board. He retired in 1977 from the fuel department at the Norfolk Naval Base after 35 years. He was a 50-year member of Tidewater Masonic Lodge No. 106.

Survivors include his wife, Lillie E. Beale; three daughters, Lucy Rowe, Jacqueline Wilborn, both of Norfolk, and Gwendolyn Laing of Newark, N.J.; three sons, Nathaniel Beale, Cornelius Beale, both of Norfolk, and Hamilton Beale of Seattle, Wash.; sister, Cora Dudley of Norfolk; 14 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by a son, Cola W. Beale Jr.; a sister, Amy Williams; and a grandson, Benjamin Wilborn III.

A funeral will be conducted at noon Tuesday in First Baptist Church Logan Park by the Rev. Joseph Price. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. The body will be placed in the church at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday. Family and friends will assemble at 1124 Pelham St. at 11 a.m. for the procession to the church.
