John Dewood Morris, 80, died Monday, Nov. 10, 1997, in a local hospital.
He was a native and lifelong resident of Portsmouth. Mr. Morris retired as a supervisor for the Portsmouth Water Department. He was a Baptist and a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge No. 898.
Survivors include a son, Gerald L. Morris of Germantown, Tenn.; a granddaughter, Eleanor M. Weiss of Atlanta, Ga.; and a grandson, Warren Morris of Memphis, Tenn.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday in Olive Branch Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. today in Loving Funeral Home Chapel, Churchland. KEYWORDS: DEATH OBITUARY
