Otte's infant son was found burned to death in a microwave oven in September.

Roanoke County police have charged a former teacher's aide with having sex with a student.
26-year-old Tracey Leigh (LEE) Finch faces two counts of taking indecent liberties with a minor, and one count of contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
The incident involved a 16-year-old boy at Glenvar High School, but it did not happen on school property.

The city of Roanoke has a date in federal court for environmental violations at the Public Works Service Center. Today, city council approved a plea agreement that will cost 600- thousand dollars in fines and community service.

The city's violations came to light two years ago after barrels were discovered buried on the grounds of the Public Works Service Center.
Eventually more than one thousand were unearthed. Most were empty but more than forty contained hazardous waste, such as asphalt patch material and oil-based road paint.
In addition to the barrels, federal investigators say they found a history of other violations that included the dumping of solvents on the ground and the release of antifreeze, brake cleaners and solvents into the municipal sewer system.

An inmate was found dead in the Roanoke County jail this morning.
The sheriff's office says he apparently suffocated, using a pillowcase.
The inmate was alone in a cell at the time.
His name is not being released until his family can be told.
