Another big story of the day comes from textile country.
Dan River plans to open a plant in Mexico.
It's a joint venture could send almost 500 jobs south of the border, but company officials say they hope the impact will be much smaller.

Their lawyer's in top-secret talks with PhyCor.
What is clear, to Dr. Judy, is: The doctors have no choice but to leave Lewis-Gale.
And if they can't stay in this area, he worries it's their patients who ultimately will pay the highest price.

The Board of Supervisors in Patrick County is meeting this hour to discuss the financial future of Patrick Community Hospital.

It was not a routine traffic stop -- that's what the Police Benevolent Association is saying about the investigation of Roanoke police officer William (boo-SHAY) Boucher.

Police in Charlotte say Bobby Phills a 30 year old guard for the Hornets was driving his Porsche at a high rate of speed when he was killed in a two car accident this morning.

A team spokesman said his black Porsche collided with another car near tthe Charlotte Coliseum.
